Our Purpose
Our mission is to empower young Malayalees with a deep sense of belonging and cultural pride, ensuring that the rich heritage of Kerala is passed on to future generations in an engaging and meaningful way. We cherish the wisdom of our ancestors, grandparents, and parents, recognizing the invaluable lessons they’ve imparted. Through this platform, we aim to bridge generations, fostering mutual learning and creating memorable bonds.
In today’s social media-driven world, it’s easy to forget the significance of our past. Yet, by paying close attention and gaining a deep understanding, we reveal the profound value of our heritage, even when resources and materials were scarce. We celebrate the achievements of Malayalees worldwide and highlight significant events and history in and around Kerala, bringing to light the resilience and creativity of our community.
Despite being a small state with limited economic opportunities, Kerala has nurtured resourceful, hardworking, and ambitious individuals who have achieved global success. We seek to inspire upcoming generations, reminding them of their roots so they remain grounded and proud of their culture, while also striving for excellence and making a mark on the world.
About Me
As an educator with roots in both Kerala and Pune, my journey has allowed me to embrace and integrate diverse cultural perspectives into my teaching practices in New York City. This cultural exposure has enriched my approach, incorporating culturally responsive teaching and relevant pedagogy. My role as a mother highlighted the importance of interactive and visual learning to make cultural heritage meaningful for children.
With over a decade of experience teaching various subjects, including STEM, library media, special education, and ESL, and extensive training in technology integration, my teaching methods have evolved to effectively connect with students. As a founding member of an equity team and a committed advocate for inclusive education, I strive to foster an environment where every student feels valued and understood.
Now, I aim to share this knowledge with parents and community members to help raise culturally conscious individuals who take pride in their heritage while excelling in the world. Through bridging generations and fostering mutual learning, I hope to celebrate and pass on the rich cultural heritage of Kerala with pride.
